Michael Cooper

This executive assistant manager of InterContinental Hotels Cleveland was named the Ohio Hotel & Lodging Association's Manager of the Year.

He received the award at the organization's "Stars of the Industry" gala dinner in Columbus Nov. 22.

Cooper, of Lakewood, manages the day-to-day operations of the InterContinental Hotels Cleveland and is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of financial and operational plans.

He worked his way up from director of food and beverage at the InterContinental New Orleans and catering sales manager and banquet manager at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, D.C. "Michael Cooper is a creative and strategic manager," said Campbell Black, regional director of operations and general manager of InterContinental Cleveland. "His hands-on management style and strong attention to detail have proved invaluable to our organization."
